After graduation, I did a few years of University and travelled Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Then I joined the Saanich Police Dept. About the same time I met my wife, Jennifer and we eventually had five kids; three girls and two boys. In the police dept. I was promoted to Sergeant in 1999. After 29 years I decided to retire and was hired by the Legislative Assembly as a Special Cst. In the next fifteen years I enjoyed positions in Training, Intel and Investigations. I later became the Acting Deputy Sgt-at-Arms and the Acting Sgt-at-Arms; a position I held for two years while in charge of security for the BC Legislature. Wanting to make life more simple, I retired and I went back to Saanich in investigative and enforcement roles in bylaw where I now continue to work full time.
Jennifer and I have four lovely grandchildren; two in New Zealand and two in Victoria. Jennifer and I are very happy, and currently renovating our Gordon Head home. We spend our time boating on our 1967 33 ft Chis Craft. We also enjoy travelling and spending time with family.
